Isla Blanca is about an hours drive north from the Cancun hotel row – its great on North winds in a flat water lagoon set up – though being more Gulf water, it doesn’t have the beautiful crystal clear water of the Mayan side. The beach setup is clean, and the launch and land is open without obstacles. There is plenty of space to run out your lines too. Its a great location to learn to kiteboard as the lagoon inlet is practically all waist water deep. You can haul your kite back if you run into difficulties. There is a kiting good school setup there. A small charge for having access to the property, maintenance and the rescue on standby if you do end up in ‘deep water’. There are also some amenities at the kiteschool there.
