I have been strangely fascinated by the rest of the world since a very early age. Nearly visiting every US state before graduating from high school, it wasn’t until joining the Army that I really ventured off of the North American continent for the first time. That was all it took to inspire the insatiable wanderlust that now drives me to new destinations across the globe.

Scuba Diving Honolulu with Kaimana Divers – TURTLES

Our first dive was at Turtle Canyons. Turtle Canyons was formed thousands of years ago when volcanic activity was in action here on Oahu. Large lava/rock encrusted fingers point out from the shallow shores of Waikiki in a south eastern direction. In between these “fingers” are mostly small rock boulders, coral heads and sand. We saw a dozen or so of Hawaiian green sea turtles in their natural habitat. You can literally swim right with these rare reptiles without a care in the world. Dolphins were are on patrol around this site because we heard them emitting squeaks and clicks.

The second dive was at Kewalo Pipe. The pipe runs from the shoreline all the way out to around 65 feet in depth and was used as an old water storm drain. We went off the pipe to check out some coral and didn’t find much.
